HISTORY
USO DFW officially opened its doors on June 14, 2004 to serve the military community. Since our opening, we have welcomed more than 1.8 million service members and their families as they wait to travel all over the world. All services provided at USO DFW are complimentary to our guests and are made possible by the generosity of our donors, support from companies and organizations, and the North Texas Community.
USO Dallas/Fort Worth lifts the spirits of America’s military service members and their families at USO Centers at DFW Airport and Dallas MEPS that served more than 207,000 troops and their families in 2015, as well as through morale-boosting and family-strengthening programs targeting the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen and their families stationed in DFW. More than 250 USO DFW volunteers support our mission.
AMENITIES & SUPPORT
Our Center amenities at DFW Airport B47 include a café, TV lounge area, computer room, charging stations, books to read, and much more. In June 2013, USO DFW launched a new program service at the Dallas Military Entrance Processing Station (Dallas MEPS). More than 13,000 new applicants into the Armed Forces are provided direct services as well as an introduction to USO services available at our more than 180 locations worldwide.
Our Families of the Fallen and Family Support teams help families who come through our airport with whatever their need may be. If there is a dignified transfer through DFW Airport, volunteers will meet the families and help escort them around DFW.
USO DFW also supports local units with their Family Days and other unit activities. Activities include helping fund their snacks, bounce houses, drinks, and face painting for the children. We also attend community events where we set up a USO info table and share the mission of the USO.
